Inhalt
Man konnte das Feuer nur aus der Ferne sehen. Aber ich wollte ihm direkt ins Gesicht blicken, ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken.
Billie und Laura sind beste Freundinnen. Sie kennen sich schon ewig und erzählen sich einfach alles. Nur dass Billie heimlich mit Lauras Freund Danny schläft, im Auto am Ufer des Flusses, das weiß Laura nicht. Der Sommer ist heiß und in wenigen Tagen schon werden die Waldbrände bis an die Häuser reichen. Die Jugendlichen treff en sich an der Badestelle, auf Parkplätzen, und die Partys sind wild und laut. Billie und Danny sind hemmungslos verknallt, müssen es aber vor allen anderen verbergen. In ihrer Verwirrung klaut Billie ein Auto, eigentlich nur so zum Spaß.

It‘s a sweltering summer, and in a few days the forest fires will have reached the houses. The teenagers meet up at parking lots or to go swimming, and the parties are wild and loud. Billie and Danny are head over heels in love, but they have to hide it from everyone. In her state of confusion Billie steals a car, and what starts out as a bit of fun takes a different turn.
