Ich wünsch mir so sehr, dass ein Auto in unser Haus kracht.
Hier ist nichts. So beschreibt Meis ihr Zuhause. Ihre Großmutter schüttelt unablässig den Kopf, der Vater liegt am liebsten auf der Couch, und die Mutter hoff t darauf, dass sie endlich in die Stadt ziehen. Weil aber nichts passiert, warten alle auf das nächste Auto, das aus der Kurve direkt in das Wohnzimmer kracht. Meis fährt mit dem Fahrrad umher, macht sich Gedanken über den Ursprung der Welt, sonnt sich und lässt ihren Fantasien freien Lauf. Und eines Tages crasht es wirklich. Der Fahrer sitzt wie tot hinter dem Steuer. Es ist ein Junge, und er ist hübsch.

I truly hope a car will crash into our house.
There is nothing there. That‘s how Meis describes her home. Her grandma is shaking her head incessantly, her father spends his time lazing on the sofa, and her mother clings to the hope that they‘ll fi nally move to the city. But since nothing happens, they‘re all waiting for the next car to race round the corner and smash into their living room. Meis rides around on her bike, contemplates the origin of the world, sunbathes and lets her imagination run wild. Then one day, the crash actually happens. The driver sits behind the wheel, perhaps he‘s dead. He’s young, plus he‘s good looking.
